1) Download the drivers from Belcarra btblan-demo-15ec-f001-10-26-2004.exe & run the exe. follow the defaults and it will extract to C:program filesBelcarraUSBLAN (Driver also downloadable frtom MFC Download section)

2) Put the phone into USB Modem mode and connect to PC

2) Fireup Hyperterminal and click “cancel” when u see the prompt then type the command in the term box : AT+MODE=99; this will kill the modem process and force the phone into a different USB mode, namely USBLAN Ps: if Hyperterminal doesnt work for you for some reason, read the sticky 'Super cool way to get into 3 modes using modem mode!' or something like that.

3)This will force the detection of the hardware and you should be prompted for the drivers for Motorola USBLAN. Click manually select location and put it to C:program filesBelcarraUSBLAN. If you are unable to install, read below!!

4)The drivers are installed already. You should have a new network detected & the ip address assigned should be 169.254.141.1 (ip might be different)

5) Typing ipconfig /all should let u see 2 adapters, your local LAN n the Belccarra USBLAN Driver.

6) Go to Start»Run and type “cmd” and enter. You should have a command prompt. type “telnet 169.254.141.2” (ip differes and remember to +1 t the last digit if not you will get a port 23 not open error) and type “root” on login and enter.

7)What else do you want, you have successfully telnet to your E680 if you are at this stage!

Okay some of you might not be able to detect your E680, therefore do this:

Use notepad and open btblan-demo-15ec-f001.inf, add these 3 lines: ExcludeFromSelect = USB\VID_22B8&PID_600C

Use common sense to add these lines :)

1. Open the .jar game of the game you want to install with WinRar

2. Inside, there's a folder META-INF, which contains a file called MANIFEST.MF.

3. Double click it, then winrar opens notepad to show it, or copy it to some folder and open it from there.

4. There's a line MIDlet-Icon: in the file, look what it says, for example MIDlet-Icon: /icon.png

5. Go to the main folder of the jar file (or if its other then /, the corresponding folder.

6. Copy the image file out of the jar.

7. Edit it.

8. Place it back as icon.png, call the old one icon.bak or something.

9. Install the .jar file and check if it worked.

10. If not, check if you followed the steps correctly.

Ps: If the MANIFEST.MF file doesnt contain the line MIDlet-Icon:, you can just add that.

This applies to those who wants to press a number for automatic call answering or when you want to store a number when someone reads it out to you.

You cannot install zip files. Either the files are renamed to *.zip or are being zipped up with WinZip.

1. Download the games you want.

2. Unzip them with WinRar, WinZip or Windows XP built-in zip application. If it does not contain one single jar file then just rename the downloaded file to .jar, no need to unzip then.

3. Transfer them to you phone using bluetooth or USB.

4. Install them by clicking on them in the filemanager (my favorites for E680i) app.

5. Your done!

1. First set the phone USB Mode setting to 'Mass Storage' in the setup.

2. Then connect ur phone with the USB cable that came along with the phone.

3. If ur PC is Win 2k or Win XP, then the OS will auto-detect the phone.

4. You can see ur phone in Window Explorer.

Go to the program you want to uninstall. use your stylus and hold on to the program name. A menu will appear and they “might” have the option to uninstall.

Default Applications might not be able to uninstall.

Go to dial pad and type “WWW008W” where W = Wait. Insert wait using the menu at bottom left corner.

If you sync with Outlook, make sure that the phone is not in mass storage mode. Switch to modem mode and if you want to use the phone as a HD, then make sure that the mode is switch to Mass Storge. All this can be found in the setup icon. You also need to start the Sync app on the phone when asked too by the ezxsync program.

Under “Setup » USB Mode” , you have to set to “Mass Storage”, before you can transfer.

From what I know through the forums, the phone mode is “modem” until after the phone loads, then it changes to mass storage. In this case, follow the telnet guide and telnet into the phone. Delete the bamboo theme and you can start the phone already :)

The first time you play most of the preloaded game, you will see a screen says you only get 2 times for trial. Once you see this screen, you exit the game. Check the following folder:

2 ways: 1. Use the edited Codegroup 33 by silvio, so that you automatically get usblan mode when plugging in. Read about it here.

2. Install linloader and make a script saying this: #!/bin/bash echo MotNet > /proc/usbd-switch

Save this as acmattach.txt and place it on the root of your mmc folder.

Sync with the EzxSync software your complete phonebook & calendar to Outlook/Outlook Express. Afterwards you can restore these with MPT (Mobile Phone Tools).

Flashing procedure for E680.

The following procedure were described originally by silvio at http://www.pashkovsky.com/e680. Firmwares and softwares were also provided by him. This was written as a guide from a newbie to newbies.

Requirements
1. PST 7.2.3. 7.1.1 will do. Program used to flash the firmware.
2. E680I original firmware. Current available one is the China Mobile Branded E680I firmware.
3. CG33.smg (Optional). This is to enable some scripts eg, startup, usblan etc.
4. Motorola E680. Visit your nearest Motorola dealer if you don't have it.
5. Usb cable. Comes with phone.
6. Loads of guts.

Downloads
A single torrent file contain almost all the files you need.

Procedure
1. Install PST into its default folder.
2. Copy the patch file, crack.exe, into PST installation folder and run it.
3. There are more than 1 files to patch, so keep clicking next until done.
4. Extract the firmware, e680i_c3_shx.zip, to a folder of your choice.
5. Put phone to usb modem mode and connect to pc.
6. Run Multiflashflex.exe in PST installation folder.
7. A bunch of drivers will be installed.
8. Select manually install driver and point to PST installation folders. All drivers will then be installed.
9. You should now see your phone in the Device list.
10. In Flash setup, browse to the extracted E680i .shx file.
11. Click start.
12. While flashing, it may try to install more drivers. just point to PST installation folder.
13. At some moment of time, it may look hanged or dead. IT IS NOT! just wait.
14. Optional step: When it says erasing flash…, copy the extracted CG33 and/or other CG files into the same folder as the original .shx.
There will be a series of files there created by PST. Just overwrite the 2 files there. This must be done before erasing flash ends. 15. Depending on whether you choose to use the optional CG files, it will show flash passed or failed. In any case, dont worry. Just exit multiflashflex and plug out cable.
16. Phone will still be in blue screen. just restart it, then master reset and clear just to be sure. default security codes 000000.
17. Enjoy your new firmware.

After flashing, if you did not use CG35, first thing you should install is linloader. it can then be used to enable telnet.

The E680i has a newer bluetooth chip, that supports Bluetooth 1.2 and therefore also supports A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, with this you can listen through Bluetooth headsets to stereo music).

If you used PST or RSD Lite, no. With Radiocomm it is possible though. If you fucked up your flash by pulling the plug during the flashing process for example, start the phone up in bootloader mode (press cam + vol down + power buttons at the same time), plug it in and reflash it.

U can do it in two ways, 1) by tapping the stylus on the screen and dragging it on the screen up and down for zooming in and zooming out.

2) OR by using the volume control(roker switch on the left top side of yr A780) i prefer the 2nd one,as it looks sophisticated……..Chrysanthemumman.
